Methadone/Buprenorphine Treatment:
not available

Currently (March 2008) substitution treatment is not available for foreign patients. General practitioners are not allowed to provide substitution treatment with methadone or buprenorphine. The few minor substitution programmes operating in Poland have long waiting lists for local applicants.

Importation of Methadone/Buprenorphine: possible

Travellers from one of the signatory countries of the Schengen Implementing Convention should carry with them a special form called “Certificate to carry drugs and/or psychotropic substances for treatment purposes – Schengen Implementing Convention Article 75″. Travellers from non-signatory countries of the convention should carry a letter from their prescribing clinic/GP (specimen letter). The maximum quantity to be allowed for importation for personal use is a supply sufficient for
30 days.
