Opioid Substitution Treatment: not available

Presently, Dominica neither stock nor import methadone or buprenorphine. Patients travelling to Dominica for short stay will not be able to get treatment. If patients intend to remain in Dominica for an extended period of time, prior arrangements would have to be made so that they can continue their treatment. For further information contact the Chief Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health and Environment. So far we have not heard of any patient trying to arrange continued dosing in Dominica with the  assistance of the Ministry.

Importation of Methadone or other Prescribed Narcotics: possible

Foreign travellers can bring into Dominica medically prescribed methadone, buprenorphine or other opioids for personal use during the duration of their stay (maximum = 30 daily doses). Patients must carry with them a letter from their prescribing doctor/clinic. When opioids are brought in in liquid form each single bottle must be labelled correctly.
