Methadone and Buprenorphine Treatment: not available

In autumn 2008 a small methadone pilot program started. Currently continued treatment/dosing of foreign travellers is not
possible.

Importation of Methadone or
Buprenorphine: possible

Travellers must carry with them a letter from their prescribing clinic or family doctor clearly stating that the methadone has been prescribed for personal use of the patient
and detailing the patient’s personal data, the total quantity of methadone, and the dates of arrival into and departure from the Maldives.
