Methadone/Buprenorphine Treatment: available

If a foreign traveller seeks methadone/buprenorphine treatment in Liechtenstein his/her home prescriber must contact the chief medical officer of the Health Department, Dr. O. Ospelt, some two weeks in advance of the expected journey to arrange treatment and dispensing modalities.

Importation of Methadone and Other Opioid Substances: possible

Although it is not a legal requirement we advise travellers bringing methadone or other opioid substances into Liechtenstein for personal use as medication to carry with them a document from their prescribing medical practitioner which clearly supports their need for the medication, details the patients’ identification data and states the name, form, strength and dosage of the medication.
