Importation of Methadone and Other Opioids: possible
Indonesia has very strict drug laws and regulations! According to information received January 8, 2026, from the Embassy of Indonesia in Berlin travellers must carry with them a doctor’s letter written in English endorsed by the appropriate local health authority in the patient’s home country (Specimen letter) plus an apostille certificate!!! Patients have to check in their home countries which local authorities issue such documents. The medications must be carried in original packaging and need to be declared at customs when arriving in Indonesia. In addition, a special form (Arrival Card) has to be filled out before arrival.
