Take home medication is possible if a patient’s home
prescriber/prescribing clinic clearly states that the patient in question is
eligible for receiving take away doses (and how many).

 Monthly costs for treatment and medication are
approximately 20-25 Euros (25 to 30 $US). Patients having an Iranian Medical
Insurance, have to pay only some 10 $US.

 

Buprenorphine Treatment:

available

In Iran buprenorphine is only available for participants of a currently-run pilot programme. Courtesy dosing is not (yet) possible.

 

Importation of Methadone/Buprenorphine: possible

Travellers wishing to bring methadone or buprenorphine into Iran for personal use as medication are advised to contact an Iranian embassy or consulate.
