Importation of Methadone: possible

Patients wishing to bring methadone into Venezuela for personal use as medication must apply for an import permit at the Ministry of Health (Ministerio de Sanidad). First,
a letter from the patient’s clinic or physician stating identification details, the dates of arrival in and departure from Venezuela, the daily methadone dose, and the total quantity of methadone to be imported must be attested by a Venezuelan diplomatic mission. Then this certification together with an application for importation must be sent to the Ministry of Health (División de Drogas y Cosméticos). We strongly advise to contact a Venezuelan embassy or consulate at least three months before the expected date of arrival in Venezuela.
