Importation of methadone and
other substitute substances: possible

Travellers must apply for an import licence to be issued by the Pharmacy Unit of the Ministry of Health of Belize (see contact details below). It is allowed to bring into Belize a quantity of 30 daily doses of methadone, buprenorphine, morphine or codeine for personal use. Apart from carrying with them an import licence travellers also have to carry with them a valid medical prescription (copy of original prescription). The medication has to be declared at customs.
