Importation of Methadone: possible

Travellers wishing to bring methadone into Colombia for personal use as medication must apply for an import permit at the Fondo Nacional de Estupefacientes well in advance of their intended journey. The application should include a certificate from the patient's home prescriber providing the following information:

• name, address, and phone/fax no. of the patient's home prescriber;
• the patient's name and passport no., and his/her address while staying in Colombia;
• prescribed drug: trade name or special preparation, concentration of active substance, total quantity of active substance, and daily dose;
• stamp, date, and signature.

The maximum quantity imported must not exceed a supply required for twenty days.
