Importation of Methadone: possible
The regulations regarding importation of methadone are as follows:
a) A request by letter should be made on behalf of the patient to the Chief Medical Officer.
b) Approval is communicated to the patient, and the Barbados Drug Service informed.
c) The total amount of methadone should be declared to Her Majesty's Customs on arrival at the port of entry in Barbados.
d) The declaration should be supported by the letter of approval from the Chief Medical Officer.
e) Any unused quantity of methadone must be
reported to the Barbados Drug Service so that an appropriate
export authorisation document could be issued to allow the person
to leave Barbados with any unused quantity of methadone.
